Turkish Vice President meets Turkish workers in Algeria

ORAN, Algeria

Türkiye’s vice-president met on Saturday with Turkish workers at a steel production plant of a Turkish company in northwestern Algeria.

Fuat Oktay visited the company in the port city of Oran and said that Turkey and Algeria have five centuries of historical ties and that his country attaches the greatest importance to relations with friendly and brotherly Algeria.

He said that Turkey’s relations with Algeria are indispensable, not only for the two countries but for the peace, stability and prosperity of the region.

Oktay noted that cooperation between businessmen of the two countries is important for the continued momentum in bilateral relations.

At the end of 2021, the capital position of Turkish companies abroad reached $46.5 billion, Oktay said, adding that the share in North African countries was 4.1%.

Turkish investments in Algeria have reached $5 billion and they continue to increase, Oktay added.
