The Wessex County Fair returns in August with flagship act The Wurzels.
Salisbury Hospice Charity has announced that the event will take place on the Wilton House estate on Saturday August 6.
He says the event is “bigger and better than ever”, and for the first time will include an evening of entertainment.
The main arena will host local community groups with demonstrations and shows, in addition to falconry shows and sheepdog acts.
The music scene will be live from noon to 10 p.m., offering a variety of country, blues, jazz and folk music to keep everyone entertained, culminating with the main title, The Wurzels.
Other local artists throughout the day include Ribble, The Navy Larks, Sticky Toffee Jazz and The Acrustic Badger Band.
The day is all about family activities, with a variety of arena entertainment, craft demonstrations and the ever-popular dog show.
Old favourites, the steam and vehicle exhibits, will be back, along with children’s attractions including a funfair, donkey rides and competitions.
To complement the vehicle exhibits, new for this year will be a “Show and Shine” for motorhomes, which will allow visitors to experience some of the features of these fabulous vehicles.
For dog lovers, the Country Fair Dog Show is a must with different classes for canines of all shapes and sizes.
The event is organized by Salisbury Hospice Charity and the proceeds will fund the life-saving care the charity provides free of charge to members of its community.
At the heart of the fair will be the hospice village where visitors can relax and unwind with a massage or manicure, or enjoy some quiet creative time, rest in the lounge area or simply linger in the magnificent setting of the Domaine de Wilton.
The craft marquee rounds out the country’s fair lineup, where visitors can indulge in retail therapy and browse the handmade goods on offer.
There will also be a food court and two bars available.
Tickets are limited so Salisbury Hospice Charity urges people to book now to avoid disappointment.
