Actress Armeena Khan took to social media to announce that her short film Instantaneous was selected by the Gold Movie Awards and the Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival.

Short film Instantaneous was a collaborative work between Turkish and Pakistani talents. While the producers, director, screenwriters are from Pakistan, co-actors Mert Kilic and Ayhan Isik and the music composer are from Turkey. The film was produced by Khan, marking her debut as a producer. It was directed by Ali.

The Gold Movie Awards are organized by an international film festival based in London. The Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival is organized by the UK-based Lift-Off Global Network, which promotes the work of independent film makers from around the world.

Instantaneous told the story of a Canadian girl (played by Khan) who finds herself stranded in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey, due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. According to a press release, the story was intended to emphasize “platonic relationships” and “highlight the importance of friendship.”
