Springfield Business Journal received three top awards from the Missouri Press Association’s Best Newspaper Contest.
The judges of the MPA event awarded top honors from the SBJ in Best Local Business Coverage, Best Multimedia Report for the No Ceiling Podcast, and Best COVID-19 Coverage. The winners were unveiled at a convention September 23-25 ââin Excelsior Springs.
The No Ceiling podcast features SBJ editor-in-chief Christine Temple interviewing local women about their careers and challenges. The first season kicked off in October 2020, with the second season launching this year. For the price of COVID-19 coverage, SBJ has published a series of articles to help businesses weather the pandemic.
SBJ won third prize for its 90 Ideas in 90 Minutes podcast, in which local thought leaders share their best business ideas. Additionally, SBJ won an honorable mention for best overall design in its weekly newspaper category.
Among other local recipients, the Springfield News-Leader took home 39 awards and Christian County Headliner News won two awards.
