The Pendas Law Firm is working to give hundreds of families a turkey for Thanksgiving this year. They’ve set up several giveaways across Florida, and now they’re helping families in Orlando. From 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the company offers turkeys to anyone who shows up. “Many families across Florida are facing hardship this year. We are continuing with our annual turkey giveaway, with the feeling that the need is now greater than ever. This has a very big impact for people and it gives us a great joy to give,” attorney Lou Pendas said in a statement. The giveaway comes at a time when turkeys have been hard to come by due to a spike in bird flu. “It’s unfortunate, but we are doing what we can with the limited supply we have right now,” Pendas told WESH2 News. Charles Newberry was among the first not to enter the Orlando contest. He congratulated Pendas Law for the annual effort. “He’s a big man. I have a big heart. A very big heart,” he said. “I just retired from Disney in March and am now on Social Security and a small pension check from Disney so this helps our deal and ensures my wife and kids and grandkids can have a good time. Thanksgiving and hopefully a very nice Christmas,” Miller
