Congressman Johnson to headline LCU Values ​​and Ethics series

PINEVILLE, La. (LBM) – U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) will be the keynote speaker for Louisiana Christian University’s Value and Ethics Series on Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Johnson, who is a member of Cypress Baptist Church, Benton, and represents 15 parishes in Louisiana’s 4th congressional district, will share with his wife, Kelly, the importance of religion and morality and what can be done to restore it to the United States. .

“Kelly and I are looking forward to the event because we love the idea behind the Values ​​and Ethics series,” Johnson told the Baptist message. “It is unfortunate that most universities today never host such discussions. Too little emphasis is placed on these subjects today, and the foundations of our country are destroyed because of it.

“On November 10, we will discuss why the Founders insisted that religion and morality were essential to sustaining our republic, and how we can all work to restore these pillars before it is too late. “

The public is encouraged to attend this free event at the Guinn Auditorium.


The LCU Psychology Club will host a Community Outreach Fair on October 28.

Services and information will be available on domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, child abuse, CENLA Pregnancy Center, suicide awareness programs, human trafficking, mental health and counseling services. other support groups in the community.

The fair is free to the public and will be held at the Granberry Conference Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


The Louisiane Christian Theater will present its first show of the 2022-23 season on October 27.

Shakespeare’s “Comedy of Errors,” directed by Tabitha Huffman, acting professor and artistic director of theater at Louisiana Christian University, runs Oct. 27-30 at 7 p.m.; Nov. 3-4, 7 p.m.; and Nov. 5, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
