The Lincoln Arts Festival’s Art For Art’s Sake event returns to Southport and Hodgdon Yacht Services from Friday August 26th to Sunday August 28th. other. But it’s back and bigger than ever, with more Art Interaction Day attendees than ever!
An opening reception will begin this weekend of all things art-related on Friday, August 26 from 5-7 p.m. Get a preview of this year’s offerings, meet the artists, enjoy drinks and listen to the harp music of Suki Flanagan.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 27 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 28. Saturday, August 27 is Art Interaction Day, where most of the demonstrations and discussions with participating artists take place. Here is the program : Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m. – Martha Cowdery and Michael Tomko; artist Fran Scannell, artist Charlie Nowell and paper artist Rimar Reed; 1-4 p.m. – Demonstration and discussion by Christine Thalia Andersen; Saturday all day – Photographer Lois Glaser; artist John MT Seitzer; and artist Carol Wiley and artist/craftswoman Suzanne Norton; All day Saturday and Sunday: Rick Dickinson, Leslie Muir-Volpe
NEW to art for art in 2022: Clark Griffith, Apple-Ledge Farm Pottery – Useful and decorative high-fired pottery; all glazes certified lead free/food safe; Ramone Hanley-Warren, artist – acrylic paintings on birch panel that depict the artist’s interpretation of the natural world; Charlie Nowell, artist – colorful landscapes of Maine in oil; Carol Wiley, beautiful artist – oils, acrylics, pastels; still life, landscapes, figurative work; Reed Rimarpaper artist – Modified paper craft.
“We are thrilled to be back at the shipyard for the show!” said show organizer Leslie Muir-Volpe. “The Lincoln Arts Festival Board is so pleased that Hodgdon Yacht Services can once again host the show this year. It’s always fun to turn the huge empty boathouse from a workspace into a beautiful art display.
